Domenico Tedesco is an Italian-German football manager who is best known for his time as the head coach of FC Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga. He was born on September 12, 1985, in Rossano, Italy, and grew up in Germany.
Tedesco began his coaching career with the youth teams of VfB Stuttgart before moving on to work as an assistant coach at Hoffenheim. In 2017, he was appointed as the head coach of FC Schalke 04, becoming the youngest head coach in the Bundesliga at the age of 31.
Under Tedesco's leadership, Schalke 04 had a successful 2017-2018 season, finishing second in the Bundesliga and qualifying for the UEFA Champions League. However, he was eventually dismissed from his position in March 2019 after a string of poor results.
After leaving Schalke, Tedesco went on to coach Russian club Spartak Moscow, where he achieved relative success before departing in early 2021. He is currently without a club and is considered to be a promising young coach in European football.
